With many laps of testing under our belts, it was time to compete against the world. With the bodywork being mounted to the car then stripped and painted, it was a number of long days and nights without any sleep, leading upto Wednesday's set-up day.
The event itself was a roller coaster of emotions, with components breaking, being repaired, then breaking again.

As we passed the braking test (the final scrutineering test) the rear left stub shaft sheared, which lead to our tech sticker being removed.
Three of our most skilled team members returned to University to repair the component.
Both the Acceleration and skid pan events were missed, but the stubshaft was repaired and re-installed in time for the sprint event.

Both drivers completed both of their flying sprint laps, with a fastest lap of 61seconds (not bad for a car built on a budget of only £6500)

Sunday - The day of the endurance event. Rain lots of rain. With no wet practice under the drivers belt, both drivers headed to the practice area for some much needed wet testing. After 10mins each of 'drift control', the team headed to the re-fueling area, re-fueled and got in line for the endurance.

After a short wait in the Endurance que, a car spilt its oil on the wet circuit and pulled out. This created an opening for Coventry. George (the designated first driver) set out. Within a couple of laps George had caught the first car to over take. With George's wet track confidence ever increasing the lap times started dropping and a further two Universities was over taken.

This success however was short lived, as George dropped down the gears for the last hair pin, the rear left drive shaft sheered, again.

Although George was not able to pass the wheel to 'Wilson' (James Wilson), and the car did not finish the endurance, the overall team moral remained high, as we supported Coventry University's second team (class 1-200).

We would just like to say thankyou to all of our sponsors, the Lecturers that helped with the project. And I would like to personally thank all of the team members who gave so many hours, bloodshed and tears to complete the car.

Third Test
The day proved productive, conducting a fair few acceleration tests, and putting the flat shift to the test

Rolling Road

Although the engine had been mapped on the engine dyno, the car was taken to the rolling road to fine tune the lower throttle positions on the map. It also gave the opportunity to get the flat shift working.
The day was ended early when we realised the drive shafts had twisted.

Second Test

This was really the first proper test. The car was taken to Bruntingthorpe Aero dome for its first proper shakedown. The team finally got to drive the car, completing over 60 laps of the go-kart track.
